| Handbags have been around
ever since people needed to carry possessions around with them. Early
handbags were often worn as shoulder bags and used by travellers. In
the Eighteenth Century women often carried small bags called reticules
in which they kept perfume, fans, face powder and smelling salts. Since then handbags have developed into all shapes and sizes and the term has been used to describe everything from hand carried luggage to small purses. |
